Sarah Palin
CNN Examines Palin's Faith
First Obama, then McCain and now Palin. Somethings you have to see for yourself.
From the pastor:

Palin called Obama - "Sambo!"
Warning -- you might just be totally offended by this article. I know I was. After Barack Obama beat Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primary, Sarah Palin told colleagues, "So Sambo beat the B$it%h"

How do you feel?? Was it a Racist? Do you think it's true or just fluff?
EDIT:
Just to make sure everyone is clear - this many be a rumor - it also may be true. As always - please use your own judgment.
And again -- I'm not advocating that Palin is a racist -- my official position is that I HOPE THIS IS NOT TRUE
EDIT:
This story has been debunked -- and clearly there are some truly SICK Americans out there (from both parties). The source can be found here: http://macsmind.com/wordpress/2008/09/06/anatomy-of-a-smear-who-are-dick-and-sharon-price/
Palin said Yes - before she said NO on that bridge to nowhere
The famous bridge to nowhere - the one that Palin said no too so strongly. Well apparently she said YES before she said no and the story is right here. You be the judge. Is Palin's bridge to nowhere tough talk appealing. Or is it all just puffery.
(Puffery as a legal term refers to promotional statements and claims that express subjective rather than objective views, such that no reasonable person would take literally. Puffery is especially featured in testimonials.)

Palin Repeatedly Professed Desire To Renew Federal Funding For ‘Bridge To Nowhere’»
During the unveiling of his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) tried to cast her as a “reformer” and “fiscal conservative.” She boldly claimed that with regard to Sen. Ted Stevens’s (R-AK) infamous “Bridge to Nowhere,” she told Congress, “Thanks, but no thanks“:
I championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending by Congress. In fact, I told Congress — I told Congress, ‘Thanks, but no thanks,’ on that bridge to nowhere. If our state wanted a bridge, I said we’d build it ourselves.
It appears, however, that Palin is lying. As Bradford Plumer first noted, the Anchorage Daily News interviewed Palin during her 2006 campaign for governor. At the time, federal funding for the bridge had been stripped by Congress. They asked if she was in favor of continuing state funding for the project. “Yes,” she responded, noting specifically her desire to renew Congressional support:
Yes. I would like to see Alaska’s infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now–while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.
That assistance never materialized. When she finally canceled the $400 million project, Palin lamented the fact that Congress was not more forthcoming with federal funding. She said in a statement at the time:
Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329 million short of full funding for the bridge project, and it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island.
Palin’s desire to have federal funding directed toward pet projects in Alaska, however, did not diminish. As recently as March 2008 — around the time she first met McCain — her special counsel, John Katz, wrote in the Juneau Empire that despite recognizing increased scrutiny of such spending, Palin was not “not abandoning earmarks altogether.” While McCain expressed high-profile disdain for earmarks, the Palin administration held that:
[E]armarks are not bad in themselves. In fact, they represent a legitimate exercise of Congress’ constitutional power to amend the budget proposed by the president.

Palin’s Budget Cuts Affect Teenage Mothers
This is one you have to read to believe.
“Our house is full, help us build a new home,” proclaims the Web site for Covenant House Alaska, a program that helps younger people, including teenage mothers. The Alaska legislature decided to allocate $5 million in building funds, but Gov. Sarah Palin cut that to $3.9 million with a line-item veto in June......." http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/09/03/palins-budget-cuts-affect-teenage-mothers/

Obama Received More Press - yes - But it was mostly Negative
In light of the GOP complaining about media coverage yet again - but in this instance for Sarah Palin, I started to do some digging. The GOP claims that Palin has been treated unfairly whiles the Liberals are portrayed in a glowing light. The article below goes into more detail about the press that Obama has received (pre Palin) and comparing that to the press that John McCain has received. Folks - I was startled by the finds. Read Below (follow the link) and tell me what you think about these findings - Left, Middle, or Right :)
------
[LA Times] "The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, where researchers have tracked network news content for two decades, found that ABC, NBC and CBS were tougher on Obama than on Republican John McCain during the first six weeks of the general-election campaign.
You read it right: tougher on the Democrat.
During the evening news, the majority of statements from reporters and anchors on all three networks are neutral, the center found. And when network news people ventured opinions in recent weeks, 28% of the statements were positive for Obama and 72% negative.
Network reporting also tilted against McCain, but far less dramatically, with 43% of the statements positive and 57% negative, according to the Washington-based media center......." http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-onthemedia27-2008jul27,0,712999.story
Karl Rove bitterly divided on the experience issue and others who are bitterly divided
Contradiction has run amuck since Palin stepped to the spotlight and no one calls it out better than John Stewart! -- I totally love this clip - watch :)
Sarah Palin -- No Flag pin -- and Offensive to Community Organizers!
Did anyone else notice last night at the RNC. Palin wore no flag pin. Not only are they hypocrites on the "experience" thing they are also hypocrites on the flag pin issue (which the GOP brought up too). But the lack of respect for the country isn't what I take offense to.
Was anyone else offended about the condescending attitude and shrillness of last night? It was like they had nothing positive to say. I wanted to hear about jobs, the economy, prosperity, the environment. They also didn't mention the middle class or what they would do about this housing crisis. All I got out of last night was drill baby, drill, be afraid of the liberals - especially "that Obama". How does this type of rhetoric change our country for the better??? How does it reach across parties lines? It's the same ole republican non-sense that we saw in 2000 & 2004.
And belittling Obama's community organizer experience - was a bad call - and sunk of Carl Rove. Palin, while you have had "actual" responsibilities and a mayor as you say, community organizers actually put people first and ask for nothing in return.
Let's not forget the great Community Organizers of our time - Martin Luther King, Caesar Chavez, and Gandhi (as well as many others). Community Organizers don't go into that line of work for their own ambitions and self gain. They go into that line of work to make a difference for the people in the community - for the people of this great nation; the very people who will be voting in November. Belittling their effort is demeaning and I'm sure it won't win you any points. Palin -- you need to think before you speak. You were hailed as a hero last night -- but you're just a phony who says they'll offer change but instead offers nothing but more of the same. ENOUGH!
What did you think of Palin's acceptance speech??
Inquiring minds want to know; what did you think of Sarah Palin's RNC acceptance speech. I've heard reviews from "You go girl!" ot "What a waste of time!!"
I haven't heard the speech yet - so I'm wondering -- what did my sugar sister and brothers think about it. Right or Left - all opinions welcome (opinions of the speech that is).

There are 60 some odd days left til November 4th. We are just getting to know about Sarah Palin and her accomplishments and her potentially shady past. There are many questions that we have and a few scandals that have been uncovered. I ask you - Do you think that the media is out to "get" Palin or is this just business as usual.
Palin wanted to ban library books (??)
[Quote: Times.com] Palin continued to inject religious beliefs into her policy at times. "She asked the library how she could go about banning books," he says, because some voters thought they had inappropriate language in them. "The librarian was aghast." http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1837918,00.html
[Quote: NY Times.com] "And for some, Ms. Palin’s first months in office here were so jarring — and so alienating — that an effort was made to force a recall. About 100 people attended a meeting to discuss the effort, which was covered in the local press, but the idea was dropped.
Shortly after becoming mayor, former city officials and Wasilla residents said, Ms. Palin approached the town librarian about the possibility of banning some books, though she never followed through and it was unclear which books or passages were in question.
Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who said she attended every City Council meeting in Ms. Palin’s first year in office, said Ms. Palin brought up the idea of banning some books at one meeting. “They were somehow morally or socially objectionable to her,” Ms. Kilkenny said.
The librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, pledged to “resist all efforts at censorship,” Ms. Kilkenny recalled. Ms. Palin fired Ms. Emmons shortly after taking office but changed course after residents made a strong show of support. Ms. Emmons, who left her job and Wasilla a couple of years later, declined to comment for this article." http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/03/us/politics/03wasilla.html?bl&ex=1220587200&en=a5543a98005b8c75&ei=5087%0A
The more I find out about this woman the more she scares me. Could you imagine books like Harry Potter by JK Rowling being banned. Why McCain chose this woman - I don't think we'll ever really know. And it boggles my mind why so many Repubs are backing her and obviously ignoring the alarming background and things that are coming out about this woman everyday. I just don't get it. Wake up American indeed.
